This privacy policy describes how Jack Alexander English ("I," "me," or "my") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit my website or buy The Speaking Gym.
Information you provide directly. When you subscribe to my email list, I collect your email address. When you buy The Speaking Gym, the checkout (handled by Lemon Squeezy) collects your name, email address, and payment details so I can deliver the product and send you a receipt. I never see your full card number.
Information collected automatically. When you visit my site, I automatically collect basic technical information about your visit, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, the page that referred you, and how you interacted with the site. This information is collected using cookies and similar technologies.

Consent. I process your email address for newsletter communications only with your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.
Contract performance. If you buy The Speaking Gym, I process your information as necessary to deliver the product, send your receipt, and provide support.
Legitimate interests. I process basic analytics and technical data to understand how visitors use the site, improve the product, and keep things secure.
I use the following services to run my business. Each one has its own privacy policy that explains how it handles your information.
Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy handles the checkout for The Speaking Gym on their hosted pages. They collect your name, email address, and payment information. I receive your name, email, and order details from them. I never see your full card details. You can read their privacy policy at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
MailerLite. I use MailerLite to send my email newsletter. When you subscribe, your email address is stored by MailerLite. MailerLite may also collect information about how you interact with the emails I send (whether you open them and which links you click). Netlify. Netlify hosts this website. They collect basic technical information (such as your IP address) to deliver the site to your browser, protect against attacks, and keep the site fast. You can read their privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.
Notion. The Speaking Gym itself is a Notion template. After you buy, you copy it into your own free Notion account, and from that point your use of it is governed by Notion's own terms and privacy policy. I do not have access to your private Notion workspace. You can read Notion's privacy policy at notion.com/privacy.
YouTube. Some videos on this site (including the introduction video on the sales page, when added) are embedded from YouTube. When you click to play one of these videos, YouTube may collect information about your viewing activity in line with Google's privacy policy. Where possible I use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed mode, which limits the data YouTube collects until you click play. You can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Google Analytics (possible future use). I am considering using Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use my site (for example, which pages are popular, and roughly where in the world visitors come from). Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information. If and when I switch it on, I will update this policy to reflect that, and I will ask for your consent before any non-essential analytics cookies are dropped on your device. Some of the third-party services I use are based outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, primarily in the United States (Lemon Squeezy, Notion, Netlify, and Google). When your data is transferred internationally, I rely on the legal safeguards each service has in place to protect it, including the UK-US Data Bridge (for transfers to certified US companies) and Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
MailerLite is based in the European Union, so your email information stays within the EEA when it is stored with them.
I use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your visit. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Some cookies are essential (they keep the site working). Others, such as the ones used by Google Analytics, are for understanding how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how the site works.
I do not sell your personal information to anyone. I also do not share your information with third parties for advertising purposes.

If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Email opt-out. You can unsubscribe from my emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
I keep your personal information for as long as I need it to do the things described in this policy, or as required by law (for example, accounting records). If you unsubscribe from the email list, your email address is removed from the active list. If you ask me to delete your information, I will do so unless I am required to keep it.
My site and The Speaking Gym are not directed to children under 18, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe I have collected information from a child under 18, please email me at hello@jackalexanderenglish.com so I can delete it.
Service providers. I share your information with the third-party services listed in this policy as needed to run the site and deliver the product.
Business transfers. If my business is ever sold, merged, or transferred, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any new owner would be bound by this privacy policy or one substantially similar.
Legal requirements. I may share information where required by law, a court order, or a legitimate request from a government authority.
Most web browsers include a Do-Not-Track (DNT) setting. Because there is no uniform standard for handling DNT signals, I do not currently respond to them. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that I must follow, I will update this policy.
I may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version's date is shown at the top of this page. If I make a material change, I will let you know by posting a notice on the site, or, if appropriate, by emailing you directly.
